Annual Inspections & Testing

It is the duty of the building owner as per WorkSafe Part 11, to have their fall arrest equipment and anchors inspected at intervals not exceeding 12 months. Making sure your anchors are inspected on time will prevent down time in facade maintenance, as well as delays in the case of emergency repairs.

How It Works:

  • YAS will keep track of your anchor inspection due dates and remind you in advance that your inspection is due so that the current P. Eng doesn't expire.
  • Prior to the inspection we will communicate with your building staff to schedule a day and time to conduct the inspection. This will ensure access to the anchors and logbook. Tenants' suites and areas we need to access will be identified at that time.
  • On the day of the inspection, our inspector will review your logbook and drawings, inspect all visible and accessible equipment for conformity to the drawings, as well as signs of damage, wear and deterioration.
  • Once the inspection is complete we will provide a P. Eng inspection report, with findings and recommendations, this will confirm if your system conforms with the drawings at site, and meets WorkSafe requirements. In the event there are any issues, our team will identify them, explain what they are, and offer solutions to make your system compliant.

Fall Hazard Assessments

Fall Hazard Assessments

Falls, even from relatively low heights, can result in lost time and serious injury. WorkSafe requires workers to use fall protection when working at heights greater than 3 m (10 ft.), and determine which tool is best for you to control, or even eliminate the risks to your workers.

We will help you determine if you need:

  • Guardrails, temporary or permanent
  • Fall restraint if eliminating the hazard is not practicable.
  • Fall arrest when it is not possible to use fall restraint.
  • Work procedure if none of the above are not practicable or may result in a greater risk of injury.

Inspection and Service PPE (SRL's)

Inspection and Service PPE (SRL's)

All PPE requires some form of inspection, and at times, service. There are a lot of myths about what level of service is required for PPE. One example is how often does a harness need to be inspected by a third party and what is the life span of the harness. Yorke Anchor Systems will:

  • Help you understand what the requirements are for your equipment.
  • Conduct inspections of your PPE to assess if there are any defects or damage.
  • Ensure items that have manufacturers item specific requirements are adhered to.
  • Make recommendations on whether your equipment needs service or replacement.

PPE that is not inspected can lead to lost time at job sites in the event they do not comply with Safety regulations as it relates to frequency. Most importantly if your product is defective it could lead to serious injury.
